Booking now: Leeds conference: A poor Church for the poor?


Michael Czerny SJ from the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace; Julia Unwin, Chief Executive of the Joseph Rowntree Foundation; Martin Houghton- Brown; CEO of Depaul UK and Fr Timothy Radcliffe OP, Director of the Las Casas Institute; will be speakers at a one day conference in Leeds on 5 March entitled: A Poor Church for the Poor - How can we respond to Pope Francis' challenge?

The event will be an opportunity to explore the vision and challenge of Pope Francis in relation to the structural reality of poverty in the UK today. How can we deepen our awareness and action, individually and as communities, and change ourselves and our churches to become a poor Church, with and for the poor?

The conference will take place at Leeds Trinity University, Horsforth, Leeds on Saturday, 5 March 2016, 11am-5.30pm. Arrivals and coffee from 10.30am.

This conference is organised by the Las Casas Institute at Blackfriars Hall, Oxford, in partnership with Catholic Social Action Network, Depaul UK, and Leeds Trinity University.
