The Passion in Southwark
The Passion of Christ will be staged in St George's Cathedral, Southwark, by the Society of St Vincent de Paul on 8 April. SVP members from Menevia have been performing the play, written by Brian Griffith's The Road to Calvary, around the diocese since 1984.
The play is a vivid and dramatic account of the last 12 hours of Jesus' life, based on the Gospel of St John.This year's production in St George's Cathedral, in what is sure to be an event to stir and deepen the Christian understanding of Easter.
There is no interval and the performance lasts 90 minutes, so it should finish at 9pm. There will be light refreshments afterwards. You can obtain a ticket for £10, with concessions costing £5 and a family ticket £25 (for two adults and two children).
The Road to Calvary will be performed at 7.30pm on 8 April at St George's Cathedral, Lambeth Road SE1 7HY
