Fundraiser - Individuals and Groups
£29,479 pa (plus other benefits), permanent, full-time contract
Based in Islington, London

Progressio is looking for a creative, results-oriented team player, who can lead and develop our fundraising in this crucial area, as part of an integrated fundraising and communications strategy. The role involves managing supporter acquisition and development for individuals and groups while working very closely with the Campaigns Officer. This will require an in-depth understanding of the needs/wants of the audiences and responsibility within Progressio for income generation from these audiences. You will have excellent specialist skills, good management and creative energy to revise and manage Progressio’s fundraising strategy and delivery in this area.

The successful candidate should be educated to degree level, and have a qualification in fundraising and/or marketing, or full membership of the Institute of Fundraising.

You should have in-depth and proven experience of fundraising from individuals and groups; successful direct marketing and donor/customer relationship management; setting and execution of fundraising plans; managing and monitoring budgets; writing promotional materials and successful copywriting for fundraising, and of public speaking and delivering presentations to individuals and/or groups.

You should be a strategic thinker and planner with a demonstrable knowledge of fundraising methods, techniques and procedures, including an understanding of different recruitment and retention strategies; a good knowledge of the legal framework for fundraising and the industry standards, and skills in monitoring and evaluation of fundraising/membership campaigns and strategies. An ability to develop and implement ideas; excellent time-management, organisational and project management skills; strong initiative, self motivation and drive for innovation and excellence; confident interpersonal, communication, presentation, networking and negotiation skills; excellent written and verbal skills in English; excellent computer skills, and a willingness to undertake occasional domestic and overseas travel are also essential.

Experience of implementing relationship fundraising/marketing programmes; fundraising from church audiences; implementing supporter journeys, in particular the journey from campaigner to donor; on-line fundraising; and a good understanding of international development issues and faith audiences are highly desirable.
