Youth Day website launched
The Canadian Province of Ontario is launch a new website to help delegates plan their visit to the region as part of World Youth Day. Up to half a million young people and 3,500 media representatives from 150 countries are expected to descend on Toronto on July 28 to join Pope John Paul II for an open air Mass. The World Youth Day Conference, the largest international gathering every held in Canada, will run from July 18 for ten days. Created in 1984 by Pope John Paul II, WYD gathers young people from around the world together for a celebration of their faith and culture. Previous conferences have been held in Paris, Manila, Denver and Rome. The new website launched in Ontario today will highlight the province's many travel experiences as well as providing information and regional maps outlining camping and parking sites as well as tourist attractions.
