Henri Nouwen Society launches website

 The Henri Nouwen Society has just launched a website: http://www.HenriNouwen.org The site includes: Daily Meditation, a short daily e-letter that offers words of hope and encouragement from the writings of Henri Nouwen, Weekly Reflections and an event calendar. Mentors for Spiritual Guidance are available through a distance spiritual direction program where personal spiritual growth is supported by email or telephone. The Henri Nouwen Society was established in 1998, two years after Nouwen's death. An internationally renowned author, respected professor and beloved pastor, Henri Nouwen wrote over 40 books on the spiritual life. Born in Holland in 1932, Nouwen studied at the Menninger Clinic in the Religion and Psychiatry Program. He went on to teach at the University of Notre Dame, the Pastoral Institute in Amsterdam, and the Divinity Schools of both Yale and Harvard where his classes were among the most popular on campus. Nouwen lived the last 10 years of his life with people who have developmental disabilities in one of Jean Vanier's L'Arche communities near Toronto, Canada.
