Laudato Si Days in Westminster Archdiocese
Two events are to be held to discuss the local and global effects of climate change, the message of Pope Francis in Laudato Si', and practical ways for Catholics to get involved.
'Laudato Si and Care for Creation- where next?' is the title of days to be held at Our Lady of Grace and St Edward in Chiswick on 1 October, 10am-1pm, and Our Lady of Victories in Kensington on 15 October 10.30am - 1.30pm. The events will be hosted by CAFOD, Justice and Peace, and Caritas Westminster, with a range of exhibitors and talks.
Laudato si' ("Praise be to you") is the second encyclical of Pope Francis, released in June 2015. The encyclical has the subtitle "On Care For Our Common Home". In it, the Pope critiques consumerism and irresponsible development, laments environmental degradation and global warming, and calls all people of the world to take "swift and unified global action".
The events are free. Please RSVP to Barbara Kentish at barbarakentish@rcdow.org.uk
