London: Annual service for homeless people who have died


A Service of Commemoration will be held at St Martin in the Fields in Trafalgar Square this Thursday, to commemorate and gives thanks for the lives of the homeless people who have died in the last year in London, whether still on the streets or formerly homeless and in hostels or more settled accommodation. Staff and volunteers who have died are also remembered. This annual event is organised by The Connection at St Martin's, St Martin-in-the-Fields and Housing Justice, All are welcome to attend.

An organiser told ICN: "Many homeless people who die, don't get much of a funeral or any sort of final farewell - so this annual event is particularly meaningful for them and their friends and families.

If you know a homeless or formerly homeless person who has died in the last year, please send in their name to be included in the service. mail to: info@housingjustice.org.uk

The service starts at 11am on Thursday, 5 November 2015.
