London: Cardinal Vaughan pupils among top ten in the country
Five pupils at Pupils at the Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School in Kensington, are among the top ten pupils in the country in their respective GCSE
examinations.
Edexcel, the UK's largest awarding body for public examinations, have announced the news that Josh Fisher-Horas, Sebastian Lukomski and Jaime Valdemoros-Gomezm were among the top performers nationally in Spanish, while Thomas Forster and Konrad Grose excelled in Statistics and Religious Studies.
"It's really exciting to think that we are all in the top ten of tens of thousands of people across the country in our subjects," said Thomas, who is now studying for five A-Levels in the Sixth Form. His pride was shared by the Headmaster, Michael Gormally, who added: "The whole school is proud that five of our pupils have achieved places among the top ten GCSE candidates nationally."
Jerry Jarvis, Edexcel's Managing Director, said: "This is a tremendous achievement and testament to the hard work students put into preparing for exams. We send our congratulations to the students at Cardinal Vaughan."
