Poet Duncan McGibbon in Cardiff

There is a rare chance to see Catholic poet Duncan McGibbon when he visits Cardiff this Sunday to perform some of his work at Poetry on Tap, upstairs at The Promised Land,

McGibbon has recently published two new books: At Lanwit Major - A Meditation in Time and Happiness, published by The Poetry Spring; and The Consolations (Mulfran Press), a collection of poetry that journeys from Our Lady of Geneva to the heart of the poet's family.

Born in Greenock, Scotland, the poet has lived and worked in Geneva, commuting between his British and Swiss Poet’s Workshops, until moving to Bath in 2009. For more information see: mulfran.co.uk/DuncanMcGibbon.html

Claire Potter, author of Spilling Histories (Cinnamon Press), a poetry collection inspired by the aftermath of the New Orleans disaster is also performing. She represented Wales at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival in Washington DC last summer, and is well-known for her vibrant, vivacious poetry performances.

There is also an open-mike session. Poetry on Tap takes place upstairs at 2pm this Sunday, 14 February, in The Promised Land on Windsor Place, just off Queen Street.
