UK: Christian radio station goes national
After almost 15 years broadcasting to the Greater London area, Premier Christian Radio has secured a national licence on DAB radio. Previously, the station has been able to offer national coverage through Freeview and the internet but this is the first time a Christian radio station will be broadcast nationally on DAB radio.
"For the first time the whole of the UK will be able to tune in to Premier Christian Radio, this is a day many of us have been waiting for since our first London based broadcast almost fifteen years ago," CEO of the station, Rev Peter Kerridge said.
"Our listeners regularly share how Premier has touched their lives, these messages are a continual source of inspiration and hope to us. Now we are to broadcast nationally, the entire country will be able to tune into Christian radio and we hope even more people will benefit from our broadcasts."
Premier Christian Radio broadcasts a range of debate, teaching programmes and music aimed at all denominations. It also covers national and regional news from a Christian perspective.
"This is a historic moment, for radio and for Christians across the country who have expressed a need for a permanent nation Christian radio station for years. The hard work, prayers and faith of our staff and supporters has paid off," Kerridge said.
Premier Christian Radio can be heard on DAB radio across the nation from Monday.
