A recording of the historic Mass in York Minster last year to celebrate the 550th anniversary of the granting of the papal bull 'cum nulla' is now available on the Carmelite website. The Mass took place on the feast of St Simon Stock of England on 16 May 2003. The recording includes the sermon given by the Prior General of the Carmelite Order in York Minster and the singing of the Flos Carmeli. A spokesman said: "Even at the distance of more than a year the singing of this ancient Carmelite hymn by some 800 members of the Carmelite Family is still very moving. We know that prior to the Reformation our friars preached and ministered in this same Minster - many were ordained there." The music files are available at http://www.carmelite.org/cumnulla/ They take a few minutes to download - much faster with broadband - but are worth the wait.
