On Wednesday 20th October Bishop Riah Abo El-Asal, Anglican Bishop of Jerusalem, will deliver the 2004 Heslington Lecture at The University of York. The Heslington Lectures have been an annual event at the University since 1965. Their theme is 'religion and the modern world'. Previous speakers have included Jonathon Porritt, Bruce Kent, Rabbi Julia Neuberger, David Blunkett and Lord Habgood. The title of this years lecture is: The Arab-Israeli conflict and prospects for peace in the Middle East. The lecture will take place in the Central Hall of the University at 5.30pm. Admission is free and all are welcome.
