Pope appeals for end to 'barbaric actions' in Holy Land
During his audience yesterday, Pope John Paul II appealed once again for an end to the all violence in the Holy Land. "The dramatic news of the attack that yesterday reaped terror and death in Jerusalem arose the most absolute indignation of all," he said. "Once again" he said, in a trembling voice, "I repeat to those behind such barbaric actions that they will have to respond to these actions before God. While I express my most vivid human solidarity and spirituality to the families in mourning as well as the wounded, I also invite all to join me in prayer to the Lord for a change of heart and inspire thoughts of peace and reciprocal forgiveness for the residents of that region so dear to us all". source: Vatican Information Service
