London exhibition: 50 Faces of the Holy Land at St Dominic's Rosary Shrine

A striking photographic exhibition that reveals the people and stories behind familiar images of the Holy Land is coming to the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary and St Dominic, St Dominic's Priory, Haverstock Hill, from Friday 4 to Sunday 13 September 2026.

50 Faces of the Holy Land features intimate black-and-white portraits by photographer Marcin Mazur. The project brings together Israeli and Palestinian participants from Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Samaritan and Druze communities. Each portrait offers a direct encounter with an individual life, identity and story.

The exhibition has previously been displayed in the Houses of Parliament and in cathedrals and churches of different denominations around the UK. Its London presentation is being organised by Friends of the Holy Land, the Christian charity providing prayerful and practical support to vulnerable communities across the West Bank, Israel, Gaza and Jordan.

Brendan Metcalfe, CEO, Friends of the Holy Land said: "Too often the Holy Land reaches us only as a place of conflict. 50 Faces asks us to slow down and truly see the people behind the news. For Friends of the Holy Land, that encounter leads naturally to prayer and practical solidarity with our Christian brothers and sisters, helping them remain and thrive in the land where Jesus walked."

Alongside the exhibition, a special ecumenical Vespers service will take place at 6.45pm on Tuesday 8 September. Christians from different traditions and the wider community are warmly invited to pray together for all the people of the Holy Land and for a just and lasting peace.

The exhibition is open during the church's public opening hours. Visitors are advised to check the church website before travelling.
