Appeal for prayers from Bethlehem

Dark sky over the bleak Separation Wall surrounding Bethlehem - ICN/JS
Said Zarzar from the Holy Land Trust writes from Bethlehem:
My dear brothers and sisters,
Today we write to you with trembling hearts. The war between Israel and Iran has erupted again, and we are sitting in our homes listening to the violent, deafening bombardments. The walls shake. The sky flashes. Every sound makes our hearts race.
The children are afraid again. They ask questions we do not know how to answer. Their small hands cover their ears. Their eyes search ours for reassurance we struggle to give.
Life has frozen once more. Streets are empty. Phones are busy. People don't know what to do, where to go, or what tomorrow will bring.
We are asking you; please pray for us.
Pray for protection over our homes.
Pray for peace to silence the weapons.
Pray for the children whose innocence is being shaken by fear.
Pray that hearts of leaders soften before more blood is shed.
We want life, not death.
We want mornings filled with light, not sirens.
We want our children to sleep without fear.
Stand with us in prayer. Lift us before God tonight.
Please pray for us ..
