Radio Maria England has announced the launch of Catholic Celebs, a new monthly one-hour radio programme exploring the lives, faith, and personal journeys of well-known Catholics from the world of entertainment and public life.

At a time when interest in faith and religious practice is growing, Catholic Celebs offers a fresh and engaging space for familiar voices to speak openly about the role of faith in their lives. The programme will be hosted by broadcaster Edward Adoo and will feature music, conversation, and reflections on key moments that have shaped each guest's journey of faith.

Many public figures quietly practise their faith, while others speak openly about it. Catholic Celebs aims to bring both stories to the airwaves-celebrating the diversity of experience within the Catholic community and offering listeners insight into how faith is lived out in the public sphere.

Fr Toby Lees, Priest Director of Radio Maria England, welcomed the new series: "Many well-known people in the entertainment world are Catholic. Some celebs are very vocal and embrace their faith. Others are less vocal but still embrace what's special about faith in their lives. We want to feature those who want to shout about it and tell us about the journey of faith to date. At a time where faith and church attendance is on the increase this is perfect timing to launch a series with Edward who is also devout practising Catholic to share those fun and important stories."

Host Edward Adoo also shared why the programme holds personal significance: "As someone who has always spent time in church. It has kept me humble and gracious. I'm excited to be hosting Catholic Celebs for Radio Maria England. I think it's so important to share stories from familiar faces and voices in the world of entertainment. I believe this will enable those celebs to give back and share special moments of their lives and faith."

Catholic Celebs will launch on Thursday 12th February 2026 at 10am, with the first guest, Anne Hegerty, known to millions as The Governess on ITV's The Chase.
