Pope Leo sends aid to Ukraine for Holy Family Sunday

Source: Vatican Media

Pope Leo XIV has donated three truckloads of humanitarian aid to regions of Ukraine most affected by bombing - "where there is no electricity, no water, and no heating."

The Papal Almoner, Cardinal Konrad Krajewski, said the aid was a "small gesture' intended to support families that, like the Holy Family, "are travelling along the 'via dolorosa' of exile in search of refuge."

The trucks containing 100,000 packets of protein-rich soups.

The Cardinal said that before Christmas, the Holy Father also sent financial aid to several countries through the Office of Papal Charities and the Nunciatures.

He said Pope Leo not only prays for peace, but also wants to give practical support to families who are suffering.
