A strong line-up of Advent, Christmas and New Year faith conversations

A wide variety of conversations are coming up in the All Kinds of Catholic podcast over the next few weeks. The weekly episodes with 'ordinary' Catholic people are available wherever you get your podcasts - and on Substack.
In Episode 80, out now, Carol reports that, when asked if she wanted to change the world or change the Church, she knew she wanted to change the world. For Carol, 'Jesus was this amazing man who put the poor and the disadvantaged first.'
Episode 81, out on 17th December, features two guests who are members of a parish in the Leeds diocese. The conversation sheds light on how this community is going through a time of growth, in which they are 'trying very hard to be outward facing as well as looking for growth within the church.'
On Christmas Eve, a special episode features Christmas carols and a thoughtful conversation where Mark and Anne explore how angels are woven into their faith. It is fascinating to hear about their hard-to-describe experiences of the angelic realm spilling into their lives.
Podcast host Theresa Alessandro says, 'We will all be spending Christmas in different ways. As always, when I meet with my guests, we try to leave space in the conversation for the Holy Spirit to work. I hope this episode will give each of us something we need at this grace-filled time.'
Looking forward, on New Year's Eve there will be a peace-focussed conversation, ahead of the Church's World Day of Peace on 1st January. Jenny works for CAFOD today but previously she was part of a mission to end conflict in a particular time and place. In this episode she shares her experiences, her learning, and the role the Church played to bring peace after five years of terrible violence.
Regular listeners may remember last year's Epiphany episode, 'Three Wise Women'. This year's not-to-be-missed Epiphany episode will go out a day earlier than the usual podcast schedule, on Tuesday 6th January, to coincide with the Feast Day.
Listening to these podcast conversations and reflecting on them, might be one way to hold onto Christmastide for a little longer this year.
