Pax Christi 'Peace Pairs' Project

Last week Pax Christi was thrilled to hold the second group meeting of the 'Peace Pairs' project, an intergenerational mutual co-learning programme.
Based on the programme from Pax Christi USA, the project is a year-long programme bringing together peacemakers from different generations to learn from each other, support each other in their peacemaking and to explore nonviolence. Each pair meets up either online or in person once a month to explore and discuss issues and themes that interest them and are encouraged to produce something together during the year to share their learning.
This meeting brought together the current pairs to spend time reflecting together, share what they have been exploring and to hear about each other's experiences. An interactive word cloud activity introduced some of the topics of conversation between the pairs, which have so far covered a fascinating variety of themes, from the origins of Pax Christi to nonviolence, community and encounters of peace. There was then the opportunity to speak in more detail in small groups. It was wonderful being able to share time together, affirming what pairs are doing, and ending with a prayer and blessing for each other.
As Pax Christi, we are so thankful and delighted with the support and interest people have shown in the project. The programme is open to rolling applications, so if you would be interested in learning more, please contact Aisling on education@paxchristi.org.uk
