Madrid: English groups attend global gathering of Rainbow Catholics

The English group in Madrid
Two groups from England, Quest and Westminster LGBT Catholics were among more than 35 LGBTQ+ Catholic groups from Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, Latin America and North America who came together to celebrate the 5th Assembly of the Global Network of Rainbow Catholics (GNRC), held in Madrid under the theme 'Walking Together: Rainbow Challenges after the Synod'. The host were two Spanish member groups of GNRC, CRISMHOM and Ichthys.
This Assembly marked both the 10th anniversary of the GNRC and a renewed call to continue working together for a more inclusive, just and Gospel-centered Church.
The Assembly were sent a letter from Cardinal José Cobo of Madrid with a heartfelt letter making reference to the Jubilee Pilgrimage in Rome that many of the delegates will be attending. The Cardinal stated that the Church "must promote a culture of dialogue, accompaniment, and the effective inclusion of those who wish to walk in the church. For this, we are opening new doors and new pastoral attitudes that enable understanding and make us all feel like pilgrims of hope. We ask the Lord to give us wisdom and prudence to foster a Church where we listen to one another, with open doors, welcoming and fraternal, capable of walking with respect, compassion, and kindness."
