Catholic Bishops of England and Wales welcome Pope Leo XIV

Pope Leo blesses the crowds after his election
The Catholic Bishops of England and Wales have welcomed the announcement of the new Pope, Leo XIV.
Cardinal Robert Prevost was elected by his fellow cardinals yesterday, Thursday 8 May, and told the crowds gathered in St Peter's Square that "evil will not prevail".
Pope Leo XIV also said: "Peace be with you. A disarmed, disarming, humble peace. God loves us all, unconditionally."
