Marathon Mayor joins morning jog at Catholic school

A visit to a Westminster Catholic school turned into a mid-morning jog yesterday, as the Lord Mayor joined in with local children for an exercise class.
The Lord Mayor of Westminster, Cllr Robert Rigby, visited St Joseph's Catholic primary school in Maida Vale, as part of his campaign to support fitness and activity among younger children.
And the first citizen put his words into action in the playground - putting on a special Lord Mayoral running top (complete with exact reproduction of the Mayoral chain of office) - to join St Joseph's pupils in a few laps around the track.
The Lord Mayor said: "Really impressed by enthusiasm for fitness shown by staff & pupils at St Joseph's RC primary school - I'm visiting more than 40 Westminster primary schools to promote exercise and these children show how much early fitness habits benefit school life. Great jogging, the St Joseph's children left me standing!"
Runners will also see the Lord Mayor on the starting line this weekend outside Buckingham Palace, as he lowers the starter's flag for waves of competitors taking place in Saturday's Westminster Mile event.
