Jesuit Missions hosted a virtual prayer vigil today (Tuesday, March 19) as part of its 'Mission to Hope' Lent campaign.

Several of its partners from across the UK and overseas came together to create a diverse order of service, comprising prayers, readings and music in a variety of languages.

It forms part of its wider Lenten campaign, which celebrates the efforts of Jesuit works across the world on the theme of hope for the future.

Musical contributions included a psalm performed by the choir of St Wilfrid's, Preston, and an original piano piece composed and played by Jerald Ylagan, a Year 11 pupil at St Ignatius College, Enfield.

The vigil also saw a reading in Malagasy from Patricia Tahirindray, Programme Coordinator at the Centre Arrupe in Madagascar, a blessing from Fr GS Thayriam SJ from the Jesuit Province of Madurai, and a Gospel passage in Spanish from Jesuit Missions' International Programmes Officer, Laura Angarita.

The video is on the 'Mission to Hope' campaign page on the Jesuit Missions' website: https://jesuitmissions.org.uk/
