London: Screening of CODA
There's a chance to see the award-winning film CODA in the Arrupe Hall, Farm Street Church on Thursday evening.
As a CODA (Child of Deaf Adults), Ruby is the only hearing person in her deaf family of four. When the family's fishing business is threatened, Ruby finds herself torn between pursuing her passion for studying at Berklee College of Music and her fear of abandoning her parents and the business that needs her to survive.
In 2022, the film won three Oscars (Best Film, Supporting Actor, and Adapted Screenplay) and three BAFTAS (Lead Actress, Supporting Actor and Adapted Screenplay).
CODA will be screened at the Tim Hetherington Film Club in Arrupe Hall, Farm Street Church, 114 Mount Street, W1K 3AH at 7pm on Thursday evening. Cost is free - with drinks and refreshments (donations welcome).
