The Queen Mary Psalter is one of the most extensively illustrated biblical manuscripts ever produced. Containing more than 1000 images, the book is a magnificent display of intricate gold illustrations.

The Psalter is one of 50 rare items currently on display at an exhibition in the British Library exploring how the precious metal gold has transformed art in manuscripts, paintings and books. The exhibition Gold runs until 2 October 2022.
