Message to readers: ICN media course
Dear Readers ...
I need your advice. There are so many interesting events taking place in our Church communities, in the New Year, here at Independent Catholic News, we're planning to start publishing a series of articles with tips on how to promote activities in your parish, school, or organisation in local and national media.
Some of the topics we've thought of so far are:
- What is news.
- How to write a press release.
- Who to send it to, how and when.
- building up a contact list.
- using social media - Facebook, Twitter, Linked In etc.
- legal matters - what we can and can't write.
- copyright.
- use of images and videos.
Can you think of more topics you'd like us to cover? I would welcome your feedback and ideas. Please write to me at: jsiedlecka@gmail.com
I look forward to hearing from you.

In his Message for World Communication Day this year, Pope Francis asks us to invite people to: 'Come and see!' ... He also speaks about the importance of reporters 'hitting the streets' not just sitting at their computers. He says: 'Nothing replaces seeing things at first hand.'
