Paradox and Prophecy: why the study of Lived Catholicism matters
The second international conference on Lived Catholicism takes places online on 15th and 16th November, on the theme of 'Paradox and Prophecy: why the study of Lived Catholicism matters'. Organised by Durham University Centre for Catholic Studies and open to all who are interested in studying the actual diverse and messy reality of how we live Catholic faith and mission. Keynote speakers include Massimo Faggioli and Clare Watkins.
Lived Catholicism is about the everyday lives and hidden histories of Catholics; how we live, how we pray, how we see our work and how we build our communities and our societies, It draws on disciplines such as anthropology, sociology and history to understand our experience from different perspectives. It then enables a dialogue between reality on the ground and theology.
The conference programme includes keynote speakers, sessions of short 15 minute papers and of 5 minute podium spots, as well as open forum discussion.
