Online event to focus on human trafficking UPDATE

Source: RENATE

RENATE (Religious in Europe Networking Against Trafficking and Exploitation) is hosting an online event on 18 October 2020, from 6-7pm BST, to celebrate the European Day Against Human Trafficking. This will also be a preview of the upcoming RENATE Film Festival taking place next year.

The event is free to attend, and will be premiered on RENATE's events website and YouTube channel. It will include:

  • An introduction to anti-trafficking by RENATE's president Imelda Poole and TV presenter Julie Etchingham.
  • A tour of BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) and the Royal Society of Arts, the venues where the Film Festival will take place next year.
  • A trailer for the Film Festival.
  • A question and answer session that will explore human trafficking and the work of RENATE.

If you'd like more information about the online event, or want to register your interest and receive email reminders for the event, see: www.renateevents.net/film-festival

RENATE's Film Festival has been delayed due to Covid-19 until 12 September 2021. The online event on 18 October 2020 marks the date the Film Festival was due to take place this year.

The Film Festival will show films about trafficking and the moves to combat what Pope Francis has described as a 'crime against humanity'.

RENATE is running a Film Competition alongside the Film Festival, inviting 16-24 year-olds in European countries to enter and join in their mission. The deadline for this has also been delayed to align with the Film Festival's new date.
