NI church closes after two parishioners test positive for Covid
A Catholic church in Northern Ireland has had to close to the public once again, after two parishioners who had attended recently, tested positive for Covid-19.
St Mary's Church in Ardmore, Derry, will be closed to visitors until further notice, but all Masses can be seen on their lifestream channels - see links below.
In a video message on the parish Facebook page, entitled 'Stay Safe', Parish priest Father Neil Farren said: "I have sad news to relate to you at this time. We have Covid-19 in this wider region at this present time and also in our parish, so in consultation with our Ardmore pastoral council members we have decided to ask the public not to attend Mass in Ardmore until further notice. In the meantime I will be celebrating Mass in the chapel, but alone and you may participate in the Mass through: https://churchmedia.tv/camera/st-marys-parish-ardmore or Facebook."
Parishioner Monica Sherry commented on the parish Facebook page: "Definitely right decision. Well done Fr Farren and parish council on acting so swiftly. These outbreaks are going to happen now with more people moving about !
"This is were test & track comes in to help prevent further spread and keep it confined. All involve isolate for 14 days and if symptoms great worse seek medical help.
