Holy Land: New Banksy - 'the 'Scar of Bethlehem'

The Scar of Bethlehem
The anonymous British street artist Banksy has created a new art installation in Bethlehem - just in time for Christmas.
The new Banksy in Bethlehem: the 'Scar of Bethlehem', shows a crib scene with the infant Jesus in a manger, surrounded by Mary and Joseph, the Ox and the Ass next to Israel's massive Separation Barrier, which appears to have been pierced by a blast, creating the shape of a star.
In March 2017 Banksy opened The Walled Off Hotel in the little town of Bethlehem - a place under Israeli occupation, overlooked by a vast security wall and with checkpoints controlling the roads in and out.

In a bid to bring some festive cheer to what he said was "the least Christmassy place on earth," in that year Banksy also staged an 'Alternativity' play in the carpark of his hotel around the corner from Manger Square, in collaboration with the Oscar-winning film director and maestro behind the London 2012 Olympic opening ceremony, Danny Boyle.
