Pax Christi resources for Season of Remembrance
To mark the Season of Remembrance, Pax Christi have produced a range of materials around the theme 'No More War: Let's make peace happen'. Their purpose is to help people think about the tone, language and symbols when exploring what Remembrance means to people and also for conveying our responsibility to work for peace and an end to all war.
Pax Christi urge that Remembrance events and liturgies be inclusive of a range of voices and stories, reflecting, for example the stories of Catholic Conscientious Objectors of the First World War; allowing those who today have direct experiences of war to have a voice - many parish communities include people with such experiences; naming all those killed in recent wars: the civilians, journalists, aid workers, soldiers, medics, to reflect the full tragedy and cost of warfare.
Pax Christi have produced a postcard for handing out in churches and communities, and a full range of images, prayers, poetry stories and practical ideas to help in creative planning. See: http://paxchristi.org.uk/news-and-events/remembrance-2018/
Many peace services, exhibitions and gatherings are being organised around the country. For more information see:
