Derby, Bristol: Green Christian events
Source: Green Christian
15 Sept Derby: Derby Friends Meeting House, 56 St Helen's Street, Derby, DE1 3HY
6 Oct Bristol: TBC
The events will showcase two major initiatives:
The 'Green Christian Way of Life' provides a framework of four disciplines - Prayer, Living Gently on the Earth, Public Witness and Encouragement - by means of a dispersed community of companions. It has been described as the spiritual "heartbeat" of Green Christian. There will be an opportunity to discover new resources and share experiences of using the disciplines as an aid to ongoing spiritual journeys.
'Joy in Enough', presents a vision for a society dedicated to human flourishing and the common good rather than the constant pursuit of more. Recognising the value and limits of the natural world, it aims to harness the imagination of people in churches and beyond. It will use one of the modules in a learning guide being prepared for church groups to explore these issues.
The days are open to all who are interested in finding out more about Green Christian, the wide range of resources offered and the many associated activities and events.
Cost free - but donations of £5 to £10 on the day will be most welcome and can be gift-aided. Booking is essential as space is limited.
