Middlesbrough: J&P gathering at Barmoor

Group after Mass at St Mary's Church
Barmoor, a beautiful house on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park - just at the beginning of lambing season - was the setting for Middlesbrough Justice and Peace Commission's annual gathering over the weekend.
Organised by Nan Saeki, with chair of the commission Barbara Hungin - members of all ages took part from across the Diocese. Father Peter Keeling celebrated Mass in the crypt of the ancient St Mary's Church in Lastingham.
There were walks, plenty of social time and discussions on the group's environmental policy for the diocese - due to be launched in York later this month.
The commission has produced a beautiful booklet, quoting from Pope Francis' encyclical Laudato Si' and Cardinal Vincent Nichols - with prayers, reflections and practical suggestions on how the diocesan community can work together "to take on the challenge of caring for our wonderful planet, preserving it for us and future generations."
Further reports coming soon. See more pictures on ICN's Facebook page.
