Portsmouth: Bishop Philip Egan to lead Lent Social Justice Assembly


Portsmouth Diocese is holding a Social Justice Assembly for Lent, with Bishop Philip Egan, on Saturday 3rd March 10am to 3pm. The venue is St Bede's Church, Popley Way, Basingstoke RG24 9DX. All are welcome.

The day takes the theme: 'Christian Choices in our Common Home Everyday responses to the cry of the poor and the Earth, highlighting fairtrade'

The day take place during Fairtrade Fortnight'. The Justice Peace and Social Responsibility team and Caritas have organised the event. Speakers include Ellen Teague of the Columban missionaries and Tim Aldred of the Fairtrade Foundation. They will highlight practical action initiatives as Christians to care for all God's Creation. Plus, there will be opportunities to network and share updates on Justice, Peace and Social Responsibility work from around the diocese.

There will be resource tables with materials on social justice and networking opportunities.
