London: Guided Walk in support of Churches Cold Weather Shelter
The Churches Cold Weather Shelter (C4WS) homeless project in the Mayor of Camden's charity this year. for 200 years people have arrived in the borough of Camden in London to work and to find a home. Many didn't find a true home here, but lived in casual housing or squalid overcrowding. Over the years the face of homelessness has changed many times but has anever gone away.
In this walk, on Saturday 2 December, Camden guides will show you where Dickens was evicted, where Geroge Orwell's home was a four-foot wide cubicle, and where Alan Bennett gave shelter to the 'Lady in the Van'.
The walk takes two hours. It starts at King's Cross and ends in Camden Town.
BOOKING IS ESSENTIAL. Camden Tour Guides are not charging for the walk, but will collect donations for the C3WS Homeless Project.
