Trafalgar Square: Candlelight vigil for children killed in Holy Land

There will be music, reflections and thousands of Yahrzeit candles lit in Trafalgar Square on Monday evening, 20 November, to remember the thousands of Palestinian and Jewish children killed in the Holy Land through 50 years of Israeli Occupation from 1967- 2017. Thousands of children have been killed or injured in Israel - Palestine in the last 50 years. Since 2000 alone, 1,772 Palestinian children were killed by Israelis. 93 Israeli children were killed by Palestinians.
Speakers on Monday evening will include: Chris Rose from the Amos Trust; Rabbi Alexandra Wright; Shamiul Jourdar, Friends of Al Aqsa; and Pat Gaffney from Pax Christi. There will be music from Julia Katarina, Garth Hewitt and Leah Levane.
Andy de la Tour and Susan Woolridge will read out a list of names.
The Universal Children's Day event - the 'Tahrzeit Tadhakkor' is being organised by Jews for Justice for Palestinians. They invite readers to join them from 5-8pm.
