Scotland: A blessing in the clouds

Bishop Brian McGee, Bishop of the diocese of Argyll & the Isles, led a group on the Way of the Cross that winds up the hillside behind Craig Lodge Family House of Prayer in the village of Dalmally.

Despite the wild weather, around 20 people gathered to do the stations; some from Craig Lodge Community and others from across the diocese. The Way climbs to about 1,000 feet and once at the summit, Bishop Brian blessed a new cross, gifted to Craig Lodge by two families who are frequent visitors to the retreat centre.

The hardy pilgrims were rewarded by a brief break in the rain during the blessing and a glimpse of the wonderful beauty of God's creation all around them. Visitors to Craig Lodge often make this Way of the Cross during their stay.
