On Sunday June 18th, Stop the War have teamed up with the Park Theatre in Finsbury Park, North London to bring you Mark Rylance & Friends: Myths of War.

On this special, one-night only occasion Oscar-winning actor, writer and Stop the War patron Mark Rylance will be re-enacting American historian, playwright and famed anti-war activist Howard Zinn's Three Holy Wars.

Alongside him, actress Kika Markham and other special guests will be performing a range of anti-war material, including a passage from Erich Maria Remarque's The Road Back.

Mark Rylance is an Oscar-winning actor, writer and a patron of the Stop the War Coalition. He also won the Olivier Award and BAFTA Awards for his acting in the film A Bridge of Spies, as well as for his role as David Kelly in the 2005 Channel 4 drama The Government Inspector and for playing Thomas Cromwell in the 2015 BBC Two miniseries Wolf Hall. He was the first artistic director of Shakespeare's Globe Theatre.

Kika Markham is a renowned actress who has made many appearances on TV, including in Mr Selfridge, Holby City, Forsythe Saga, The Bill, Poirot, Return of Sherlock Holmes etc., as well as in numerous classical and modern plays.

Howard Zinn (1922-2010) was a famous US historian. He was a participant of the Civil Rights Movement and of the anti-war movement, including during the war in Vietnam. He wrote a range of legendary essays and books, including A People's History of the United States.

Erich Maria Remarque (1898-1970) was a novelist and screenwriter famous, amongst other things, for the classic anti-war novel All Quiet on the Western Front, which depicts the soldiers' experience of World War One.

Tickets went on sale this morning and are selling fast! They are priced at £15 or £20 with all funds raised going directly to Stop the War.
