Mercy - CD for Jubilee Year of Mercy by Mike Stanley, Andy Ross and Yvonne Stanley

Mercy is a resource that will help all Catholics respond to the Jubilee Year of Mercy. In original compositions and with traditional themes, it explores many
aspects of mercy through the music of the late Mike Stanley, together with his friend and xo-writer Andy Ross and Mike's wife, Yvonne Stanley.

Three new compositions approach the Year of Mercy by starting with the basics or, for some, returning to the roots of faith in Yvonne and Andy's reflective settings of the Act of Contrition and the Jesus Prayer, together with the energetic song Have mercy on me, based on Psalm 51, the Miserere.

Two of Mike's previously unpublished tracks which will come to mean a lot to those who have known his music over many years are Symphony of Worship and his own musical setting of the Song of Commendation, 'May the choirs of angels come to greet you'.

Two further compositions of Mike's are particularly suited to the Year of Mercy: Prodigal's Return and Radiant, both speaking of the beauty and serenity of the embrace of a forgiving God.

In the new year, there will be a CD Rom to supplement the CD, featuring sheet music, videos to accompany four of the songs with British Sign Language as well as extensive catechesis for the Year of Mercy.
