Kent: Diamond Jubilee Mass at National Shrine of St Jude

On the Feast of Saint Jude (28 October 2015), the National Shrine of Saint Jude will be celebrating their Diamond Jubilee with a very special Mass. The Mass will be celebrated by the Archbishop of Southwark, the Most Rev Peter Smith and concelebrated by Fr Tony Lester, O.Carm., Prior Provincial of the Carmelites.
In attendance will be: Mr Jonathan Neame Esq DL who is representing the Lieutenancy of Kent; the Mayor and Mayoress of Faversham, Councillor Nigel A Kay and Mrs Anne Kay; the Deputy Mayor, Cllr Shiel Campbell, plus all the former chaplains of the Shrine. The National Shrine is looked after by the British Province of the Carmelites.
Fr Michael Manning, present Chaplain, said: "It will be a truly joyous occasion and we are looking forward to seeing many friends of Saint Jude". Mr Matt Betts, Development Manager remarked: "The National Shrine of Saint Jude is proud of its 60 years of ministry and we are very pleased that Mr Jonathan Neame Esq DL, the Worshipful Mayor and other VIPs can attend this special day."
The Mass begins as 12 noon.
