LMS sponsors young pilgrims bound for Chartres
Young people wishing to join the 2015 Chartres Pilgrimage in May have the chance of a subsidised ticket thanks to the Latin Mass Society. LMS is offering bursaries of £100 to 15 pilgrims aged between 18 and 35, on a first come, first served basis. This will reduce the cost of a place from £275 per person to £175.
The 22nd British Pilgrimage leaves St Pancras International Station, London, on Friday 22 May at 1.30pm, travelling by Eurostar to Paris, where pilgrims will walk the three-day 70-mile route from Notre Dame Cathedral, Paris, to Notre Dame Cathedral, Chartres.
The British contingent will join around 8,000 pilgrims from more than 20 countries to take part in a walk of prayer and penance, reputed to be the largest pilgrimage in Western Europe.
Chaplains accompany pilgrims along the walk, hearing confessions, providing meditations and prayers and teaching the Catholic Faith.
Pilgrims arrive back at St Pancras at 4.39pm on the following Tuesday, 26 May.
