London: Catholics for AIDS Prevention & Support 10th anniversary Conference
Catholics for AIDS Prevention and Support (CAPS) will hold a 10th anniversary Conference 'Love Justly Act Tenderly: Stories of HIV and Christianity Today' at St Martins in the Fields, Trafalgar Square, London on Saturday 25 October from 10am 6pm.
There will be contributions from Professor Tina Beattie, Rev Jim Matarazzo, Robert Calderisi, Dr Lynne Scholefield and Christian people living with HIV who will share their stories. All are welcome.
CAPS are asking readers to download the conference poster from the CAPs website and display in their own parishes and communities, so that others will know our church is a place that includes and welcomes all people.
CAPs is a network of Catholics in Britain and Ireland promoting HIV prevention and support.
It aims:
- to promote education and prevention, treatment, care and relevant pastoral ministry for all those living with and affected by HIV/AIDS, particularly but not exclusively in the UK and Ireland.
- to promote the practical, financial, emotional, spiritual, sacramental and pastoral needs of people living with or affected by HIV/AIDS and to develop appropriate responses.
- to promote continuing reflection on all aspects of ethical, theological, and other challenges raised by HIV/AIDs, not least issues of social justice, through publication, seminars, and other relevant means.
