Cardinal Hume Centre - Volunteer Opportunity in IT
The Cardinal Hume Centre in Westminster, central London, is looking for an experienced IT person who is willing to contribute their skills and experience in a charity setting, or for someone who wishes to work in this area and is hoping to gain some office experience.
Responsibilities:
• Fulfilling a list of IT maintenance issues including keyboards not working, replacing faulty parts, correcting computer faults, printer issues, etc.
• Responding to and helping staff with computer and network queries.
• Assisting in the organisation of a help desk management system.
• Take a lead on supporting our client IT network.
• Debriefing System Manager and recording progress on database.
This would be ideal for someone who is:
• experienced in maintaining PC computers, a skill gained through work, maintaining a personal computer or from helping family and friends.
• patient and enjoys helping people.
• friendly, approachable and a good communicator.
• reliable.
• happy to take instruction and work as part of a team.
• enthusiastic about IT.
Time commitment: one day a week for at least four months.
