Pupils from the UK's five Jesuit senior schools convened at Stonyhurst this week for the annual Sixth Form Leadership Conference. St Ignatius’ College Enfield, Wimbledon College, The Mount near Sheffield, St Aloysius Glasgow and Stonyhurst in Lancashire were represented by the head boy and girl from each school. It was a good opportunity for them to meet, reflect upon and discuss their leadership experiences since September.

Stonyhurst’s chaplains, Fr John Twist SJ and Sarah Young, led a session on Discernment, which is an important aspect of Jesuit education. The headmaster, Andrew Johnson, talked to them about Discernment in Leadership. Delegates also took part in a drama workshop on the theme of Christian Leadership, had a tour of Stonyhurst's historic collections and visited Manchester University Chaplaincy, where they met Fr Tim Byron SJ and saw the chaplaincy's foodbank in action.

Mr Johnson said: "It was a pleasure to work with such an impressive group of young people and I hope the conference was a valuable and inspiring time of reflection for them. Although the schools they come from are very different from each other, the shared Jesuit values of service, faith and generosity really came through."
