Christians on 2014 New Years Honours List

Many Catholics and Christians of other denominations have been awarded in the New Year’s Honours list 2014. Among them is the sculptor Anthony Gormley, who was knighted for services to the arts. Karren Brady, the Vice Chair of West Ham football club and star of The Apprentice, was awarded a CBE for services to entrepreneurship and women in business. The actor Michael Crawford was also awarded a CBE for charitable and philanthropic services, particularly to children’s charities. The former chair of Marriage Care, Terry Prendergast has been given an OBE for services to families, while Barry and Margaret Mizen, whose son Jimmy was tragically killed in 2008, have been awarded MBEs for their work with young people through the Jimmy Mizen Foundation.
