Honour for Vicar General of Birmingham

Canon Menezes with Archbishop Longley

Pope Benedict XVI has appointed Canon Timothy Menezes, Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Birmingham a Prelate of Honour with the title Monsignor.

 Archbishop Bernard Longley said in a special message to his priests and deacons on Saturday, 25 February: “I thank the Holy Father for this moment of recognition which emphasises the concern that we all share for the work of the local Church and for the Church's universal mission.”

The Archbishop of Birmingham added: “Please keep Mgr Timothy Menezes in your prayers.”
