London: Carmel-in-the-City

Our Lady of Mt Carmel
Carmel-in-the-City is a monthly day focussing on various aspects of Carmelite spirituality and the way it can be lived out in today’s Church. It is usually held on the first Saturday of each month, at St Joseph’s Church, Lamb’s Buildings, Lamb’s Passage, off Bunhill Row, London EC1Y 8LE.
The forthcoming November Carmel-in-the-City, on Saturday 5 November, begins with refreshments at 10am and concludes at 12noon with a bring-and-share lunch for those who wish to remain for the Lay Carmelite Formation group, the whole day concluding at 2pm.
All are welcome!
The November gathering forms part of a local ecumenical discussion series, involving people from Anglican, Catholic, Lutheran, Methodist, and Welsh Presbyterian churches in the EC1 area of London with a focus on the Catholic sense of communion, We believe in the communion of saints: Saints, Souls & Catholics.
December’s gathering, 3 December begins with Mass at 11.30am followed by a bring-and-share lunch, and an afternoon reflection/discussion, Waiting in the still of silence, led by Father Joseph Chalmers O.Carm., former Prior General and presently Novice Master at Aylesford Priory. The day ends at 3.30pm after a period of Lectio Divina.
