Rosminians - Fr Kit Cunningham

We've had dozens of messages complaining about the obituary and tribute we published to Fr Kit Cunningham after he died in January. The information revealed in Tuesday night's programme has come as a great shock to everyone who knew him. His friends and parishioners feel devastated.

It was tragic to see the victims of that school in Africa. Not only had they been badly abused, I felt they had also
been extremely neglected by the Rosminians. It did not look to me as though any of those men were trained
teachers. I expect they had been to boys school themselves and spoke Latin and Greek.

It is good that this story has come out in the open, although tragically late. I hope they get huge compensation
and people should resign over the dishonest way this case has been handled.

I suggest you take that glowing obituary about kit cunningham down. He was no saint, he is hopefully burning in hell now, depsite the fact i dont beleive in such nonsense. By not removing it thus far, you are systematically slapping each and everyone of his victims. Yours

Now that it has been revealed to millions of British viewers that Fr Kit Cunningham was responsible for sexual assault on children in the 60's and 70's - will the Independent Catholic News continue promoting sanitised hagiographies of the man? The Telegraph paper has now contributed to the subject. Information about such hideous crimes are now on the Internet. The ICN would be wise to appear regretful rather than participating in a white wash.
