Archbishop Cormac to share multi-faith platform at St Martin in the Fields
Archbishop Cormac Murphy-O'Connor will join Muslim, Anglican, Methodist and Free Church representatives to discuss religion and social issues, at 7.30pm on Wednesday 14 June at St Martin in the Fields, Trafalgar Square, London. Iqbal Sacranie, Secretary General of the Muslim Council of Britain, the Rev Kathleen Richardson, Methodist Minister and Moderator of Churches' Commission for Interfaith Relations, Rev Dr Johnny Ray Youngblood Baptist Church leader from East New York, and Stephen O'Brien, Chief Executive of London First will be sharing a platform to discuss: 'Religion, Democracy and Civil Society'. The event is the first public lecture organised by TELCO (The East London Citizens Organising Federation) - a 10,000 member association of church and community groups based in East London. TELCO members are currently engaged in a number of local campaigns aimed at improving health services, transport, environment, job prospects and living conditions.
