New arrival at ICN

We are please to announced that Mary Carson, assistant editor with Independent Catholic News, gave birth to baby Tess, (6lb 3 oz) at about 4.40 yesterday morning at University College Hospital, London. Both are doing very well. Mary is a television researcher and journalist who has also worked very hard for ICN since we started up. She was busy updating the news here until about three weeks ago. Tess was born on her grandfather Willie's anniversary. A well-known photo-journalist in Derry, Northern Ireland. Willie Carson died in 1996. She is named after his sister Tess O'Doherty who died in 1991. Congratulations to Mary and husband Andy McConnell!
